OLIVER PATCH Project
Oliver Patch Project (OPP) is a Miami based non-profit organization where kids on a cancer journey and their families connect through artistic communities. OPP members can collect and wear custom-designed patches with pride as they “suit up” their armor to achieve various medical milestones. The patches symbolize power and these cancer WARRIORS wear their jean jackets and patches with PRIDE!
Leeway worked with the Oliver Patch Project to collaborate on brand voice across the launch. We helped OPP bring to life connective copy, conduct interviews with families, wrote taglines, storylines, etc. to insure engagement with medical industry leaders, clinical experts, doctors, hospitals, families, and kids.

We like to keep it real. And in attempts to write our “About Us” page...guess what? We quickly realized we didn’t want to make this...ABOUT US! We are a COMMUNITY of survivors and TOGETHER we got this! So here is a tiny bit about us...but mostly we can’t wait to learn more about you.
A Little Backstory.
In May 2020, our oldest son Oliver (9) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - A.L.L. To say our family was thrown for a loop...is an understatement!
For families like ours on a cancer journey, you KNOW what it’s like to go through a roller coaster of emotions. From denial to despair. But we quickly realized that despite it all Oliver and his younger brother Peter (4) needed us to be BRAVE, STRONG, and face things HEAD ON! We decided right then and there to turn things around with the POWER of positivity.
Ready to Attack!
When a family member is diagnosed with cancer so often one is flooded with communication from friends, family members, etc. asking, “What can we do?” All the food, gifts, etc. can be SO kind but at times...overwhelming.
We tried to come up with a clever effort in which we could KEEP THE MOMENTUM OF LOVE AND SUPPORT GOING! And before we knew it...the OPP project was born.
